All: I have added a category for January's read, A Master of Djinn by P Djeli Clark, and added the blurb and so on to that category. A good time to update notification preferences perhaps...
It looks like the origin story of the main character in the main series, with this book written after the main series. I don't know if that's a good thing or not!
But reviews suggest it's a fun romp, so I'm happy to give it a go.
Well, I thought it was the first book of a series... I guess this should also work, as there won't be any references to things that haven't happened yet... And after all, I liked The Han Solo movie ...

Anyone interested in "1177 B.C.: The Year Civilization Collapsed"? I bought it to read, but haven't read it yet.
The main spoiler was that we all felt the title was basically clickbait, and should have been "12th century BC: the century when something big happened in the ancient world of Late Bronze societies, but we're not exactly sure when or to whom, still less whether there was a single cause or multiple ones". But that isn't nearly so catchy...

All: I have added the monthly category for February's Infinity: A Bridger's Origin and added in the cover blurb. I also did the blurb post for this month's A Master of Djinn as I discovered that unaccountably I had forgotten to do that...

If anyone still has thoughts they want to put out for comment about A Master of Djinn then feel free, but now we're into February we're into @clash_bowley 's choice Infinity: A Bridger's Origin.

Fine by me - I did read it many years ago but would enjoy the opportunity to reread. I like Hoban as an author and his children's books were a staple in our family for many years (and are once again for grandchildren), and his adult books are routinely well crafted and provocative

OK, then! Like the Becky Chalmers series, or Cherryh's Alliance-Union series. That works! I will go with this book then. Should be fun!
I'll set up the discussion area then

Let nobody say that @clash_bowley never finishes a book

Any ideas for March @Apocryphal ?
I'm leaning toward Riddley Walker, by Russel Hoban. Let me know if that appeals.
