The Death of Grass 6 - Gaming

What features of The Death of Grass could be incorporated into a game? Is it any different in game terms from any other kind of apocalyptic crisis that has to be navigated around?

I'm not sure there's anything special about this book in regards to gaming. It's certainly the kind of scenario that might play out in an Apocalyptic Game. The theme of pushing the players to decide how brutal their character will become is well-trodden in gaming, I would say. Maybe almost assumed, for this genre.

Nothing stood out for me for gaming use.

I'd like to take the original idea, but spin it in a more solarpunk direction. Let's focus on the communities that come together. For instance, the villagers who maybe rob travellers, but support the weak and vulnerable in their village. Or the pepole in the destination farm, working together to protect what they have. Having to resolve their internal differences so that all survive. The terrible choice of turning away your own brother so that others in your home can live.

And then celebrating the next harvest, the babies that live through the second winter, the re-connection with other farms that made it through the Hungry Year. The slow rebuilding of a better world.

I don't see a lot of unique material for a game here either.
