The Terminal Experiment Q5: Three-Pete

In the case of this novel, there are three variants of the simulated mind– a 'bodiless' mind, an 'immortal' mind, and a 'normal mind'. Did you guess which was the murderer? Why was it that one?

Didn't guess right - I was favouring the 'bodiless' one as prime suspect. I did like the plot rationale for it being that one, and thought that Sawyer did a good job of making it obvious in retrospect.

I thought the guilty party was made pretty clear by the way he kept trying to get the reader to only suspect the other two. I thought it was him the entire time.

Like kcaryths, I thought it was the 'control' one the whole time, and for much the same reasons. I am infamous for my ability to guess the perp a quarter of the way through most procedurals or mysteries, though.

Had no idea. The relation between Peter and the sims made me think of this quote from Inception:

I wish. I wish more than anything. But I can't imagine you with all your complexity, all you perfection, all your imperfection. Look at you. You are just a shade of my real wife. You're the best I can do; but I'm sorry, you are just not good enough.

Yes, I also thought it would be the control - mainly because I imagined that we were meant to believe it was one of the others.
