Temeraire Discussion starter 6) The series thereafter
Naomi Novak went on to write another eight books in the series. Are you tempted to explore them further? Brief summaries I have read indicate that Laurence does not rise through ranks in these in the way that, say, Horatio Hornblower does. Instead, narrative change is effected by moving the location to other parts of the world - the next book is set largely in China. What do you like to see in a book series?

Q2. A quick end, generally. I’m not big on series these days.
I loved the oiginal, and thus I read many of the following series, enjoying them less and less as they went on, to where I just dropped it before the conclusion.
It's interesting that the series doesn't stick with the military exploits plots that it seemed to be driving towards. I would expect the book series to follow the same overall trajectory as the Sharpe and Hornblower books.
In any case, I'm not in a rush to read subsequent books.
