Nothing stood out for me for gaming use.

(Quote) I agree entirely with Neil's view here.

None of that rang true for me. It all just seemed like something designed to showcase the Fueher Principle. For me it read more like propaganda than anything.

Not Canadian nor British. Also not my experience. The response I saw was based greatly on helping and cooperation. Now different parts of the US were hit differently, but we in New England got through it all with a few temporary common-sense restric…

All the characters are caricatures spouting deep meaningful bullshit excusing them from the need to be human. Even the ones who spout the reverse are just there to show how ineffective they are.
-
It's Lord of the Flies with adults. The means are really immaterial. It's just an excuse to plunge the world into barbarism and highlight Christopher's frankly fascist ideals.

My games are and have always been rife with such. Romance is a big tool in my toolbox.

The conflict in this story was internal. Both Giselle and Mal had to discover what each other was about beyond their preconceptions, as well as to change themselves internally to adjust to this new gravity. There were plenty of twists, and obstacles…

I enjoyed the romance. It was awkward but sweet, initially talking past one another but slowly coming into alignment. I liked both Mal and Giselle who were both deeper than they needed to be to toe the plot lines.

It's not the kind of book that deals with uncomfortable facts. It's a cozy fantasy. People don't read this kind of book to confront reality.
-
I rather liked this book. It was very much what I expected, and it didn't disappoint me. The characters were engaging, the setting was interesting, and the situation worth my interest. The writing was solid, and didn't leave me confused or bore me. …

Finished it a couple days ago...

I'm cool with cute and I have Kindle Unlimited! I'm in!

I couldn't deal with it, and stopped reading very quickly. Not something I had any interest in, in any way.

Thomas Mofolo wrote a novel called 'Chaka' - https://www.amazon.com/Chaka-Thomas-Mofolo/dp/1478607157['Chaka'](https://www.amazon.com/Chaka-Thomas-Mofolo/dp/1478607157 - about the rise and fall of the Zulu back in the 1920s which was, IIRC, partly i…

Then I won't rush things! ;)

(Quote) I will - I'm sorry I couldn't participate more! I was really looking forward to it!

I will not be participating. Real life and gaming have conspired to keep me from reading this! It's not that I didn't like it - I was not able to even get started! I should be fine in February, but January was a bitch!

(Quote) The all male environment I was talking about was here. This book club. Because we are all male, by chance, we lack a female viewpoint to say what they might think.

I will be featuring in in my next campaign. It won't be a Virus, but by design.

The native characters in this story were from a non-technological society that had no access to technology for centuries. The Company people seemed to have trouble not thinking in terms of computers and communication. It was definitely Science Ficti…
