June

Does anyone want to do a June book, or shall we just keep laying low on the monthly books while we do New Urth?

I'd like it if someone did it but you've only just put up with my choice

We definitely should do a June book. New Sun is meant to be as well rather than instead, and we managed both during the LoTR slow read.

It's probably best that it's not me to make the suggestion though, even if I do have things in mind.

I would love to read a book! Don't ask me to lead the discussion, though!

Sounds like it's up to me to lead and nominate, then, but something everyone will like, and available in multiple formats...

How about The Land God Gave to Cain by Hammond Innes, since he was discussed recently? An adventure set in the wilds of Labrador. Not too long and a decent summer read. Some reviewers report racism. I read this once, but can't remember any more - it was written in the '50s.

If not, I'll find something else.

Good! I would love to read this, Chris! I really like Hammond Innes!

I've never read any Innes and am very happy to join in

    Sounds good to me.

Happy to give this a go! (I'm working my way through Tim Powers's Declare at the moment).

June is pretty packed for me, but I'll give it a try. Chances of participation: 40%

I seem to recall I committed to running the July book, didn't I?

I don't recall that, but you're welcome to it - nothing else is planned. What book was it?

The last discusson I remember having is this one. which listed a lot of books, but didn't garner many "Ooh, yeah, let's do those"s. https://ttrpbc.com/discussion/comment/872/#Comment_872

Earlier on in that same thread @Michael_S_Miller said "Hmm. May and June are usually pretty busy for me at work. I guess I could take July. Don't want to commit to a book just yet, though."

Is The Land God Gave to Cain agreed then? If so I'll fire up the kindle...

Yes, I think we're secure with The Land God Gave to Cain for June.
    I'll make an announcement.
