Hi all, it was the annual Grasmere Sports Day yesterday (annual by intent, though it hadn't happened the last two years because of covid) and I got to watch some of the Cumberland wrestling competitions on the day. And although they don't use fancy phrases like "agile crane flies above the sun" or whatever, there is a whole vocabulary associated with this particular sport - back heel, cross buttock, inside hipe, and the like. Kind of like Pro Wrestling or Figure Skating, for that matter.
Most if not all sports have a very interesting and specific jargon.
