Murderbot Q7. Gaming

How would you use the Murderbot setting in an RPG? Would a collection of SecUnits (or ComfortUnits) make interesting player characters, either with or without governors? How about other machine intelligences like ART? Or you could always play a team of scientists on a mission somewhere.

What would your Murderbot-inspired games look like?

Like many of my campaigns it would center on sapient slavery, so no different than what I do.

I think it’s probably only really interesting if you have a variety of characters so a group can draw contrasts between sympathetic humans, artificial intelligences, SecBots, etc. I’d probably find it more interesting if the non-human characters were NPCs and the human PCs could explore their reactions to these people.

Setting - it’s generic space, so nothing special about that.
Story - it’s basically D&D in space, right, with Murderbot as the fighter and ART as the magic-user?

Like @clash_bowley and @Apocryphal I don't see much in the setting that makes it unique. As for playing with people trying to be murderbot, I think the games would look like a min-maxing railroad.

    Love this analogy!
